Mikey was a key component in his team's success this season, leading them to an overall record of 10-1, and into the 2nd round of the state playoffs. His 530 yards rushing and 8 TDs contributed largely to the team's ground attack.
Coleman's athleticism, vision, and strength is hard to ignore. He led the team in average yards per rush as a senior and proved himself as a threat with the ball in his hands. He has the build and natural frame to be a monster at the position, and he's only going to get better once he receives college coaching and gets into a collegiate weight-training/nutrition program.
Key observations: Coleman is a beast in the weight room, squatting 400+ lbs. and deadlifting over 600+ lbs. this past season. He enjoys lifting and has only scratched the surface in terms of overall strength.
Coaching outlook: Coleman can be a reliable every down back for your program. He has great size for the position, shows great balance on film, and is smooth in and out of cuts. His potential is through the roof. Putting this kid in a room full of other college running backs will allow him to grow and improve at the position exponentially. Very excited what Mikey can do at the college level with the proper coaching and curriculum. He has all the tangibles to be a great college running back.
Summary: As a late bloomer in the recruiting process, Mikey is just now starting to receive heavy traction at the D2 and D3 level. He also has been accepted academically into several D1 schools and has displayed interest in joining their football programs. Mikey's stock is rising fast as we approach signing day and more and more college coaches are knocking at his door daily expressing their interest.
